Are your dog's signs telling you that he or she feels the love? Do you notice that your dog is licking his or her lips and his or her paws as they run up to you to be petted? Do you notice how often your dog laps away at the end of a piece of meat? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you are probably noticing your dog's feelings on a regular basis.
Do you want to help your dog feel loved? There are things you can do to help your dog feel the love. Here are a few tips:
Soften the surface of the bedding that your dog sleeps on. Use newspaper. Make sure that it is damp. And always use non-latex mats so that your dog does not lick and burn himself while sleeping on the mat.
Train your dog to potty on a regular schedule. Keep his or her food bowl covered when they are doing their business so that it will not smell. If you choose not to cover the food bowl when your dog does his business, make sure that he or she does not chew on the food while doing their business. This can lead to dental problems in dogs.
Clean the area around the house where you walk your dog frequently. You should always have them wear shoes. Otherwise, if you walk them in a muddy or wet area, there is a good chance that they will be left with scrapes and calluses.
Regularly clean the house where you live and walk your dog. This will keep you and your dog safe. And this also will keep your dog from destroying the place and getting sick. Do not allow him or her to run loose in the house because this can cause irritation and other health problems. Try to keep your house clean, so that it will not cause bad smells and puddles of urine that can ruin furniture and carpets.
Keep him or her from eating too much. Make sure that you only feed your dog what he or she needs to eat. You can buy frozen treats, but be sure that they are 100% fat free. Other foods that can harm your dog include coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and spices.
Play with your dog. Let him or her sniff your hands and ears. Your dog loves it when you make him or her happy and he or she will love you for it.
Let your dog see you take him or her for a walk. Dogs love to follow the owner who walks them.
Learn about the different types of toys. You should find toys that make squeaking sounds, so that your dog will get used to the sound. With this in mind, you should try to keep the squeaky toys outside of the dog's reach so that they will not use them to play with.
Always pay attention to your dog's muscles. You should not be afraid to make them do their business even when they are sleeping.
